Celebrating the holiday season by enjoying a hearty meal with loved ones is a cherished tradition. Yet, this time of year can be a source of anxiety for many families facing financial challenges, unsure of how to afford the essentials for a festive gathering.
To ensure that these vulnerable families can fully embrace the joy of the season, The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation proudly presents the Holiday Dinner Basket Surprise Initiative. This heartfelt program provides festive food baskets, complete with a turkey and all the essential ingredients to prepare a wonderful and nutritious holiday feast, to hundreds of families in need each year. In addition to the food baskets, families with children aged 13 and under also receive special gifts and toys to make their holiday extra memorable.
Since 2011, the Holiday Dinner Basket Surprise Initiative has touched the lives of nearly 3,000 families in vulnerable communities across Newark, NJ; New Orleans, LA; Camden, NJ; Columbus, OH; and Philadelphia, PA.
This signature event embodies the true spirit of giving during the holidays, emphasizing the importance of giving back and strengthening communities.
Your support can make this possible!
Each Holiday Dinner Basket contains:
Turkey (11-14lb), stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy
5-lb bag of potatoes, green beans, cornbread mix
collard greens, rice sides,
mac & cheese, spaghetti, spaghetti sauce,
condensed milk, chicken broth, dinner rolls or bread,
bag of assorted fruit, a baked pie, juice, aluminum roasting pan, utensils & plates.
ALL FESTIVELY WRAPPED IN A REUSABLE LAUNDRY BASKET
