Malcolm Jenkins Foundation “You Aren’t Listening” Shirt

Reminding us that listening is key to all effective communication. This hand-written message in black and white shared by Malcolm Jenkins, calls attention to the systemic disparities and inequities, disproportionately impacting communities of color.  “To appear wise, one must talk; to be wise, one must listen.”

In Western Philadelphia’s Promise Zone, 51% of families have been deemed as living in poverty. The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation provides food, resources, education programs and initiatives, and holiday cheer for those in need, especially its youth, who despite their environment have an opportunity to succeed with the right support.  We all need to effectively listen and respond to the systemic poverty and disparities existing in our communities.
